Fox River Rose 2024

VINTAGE & WINEMAKING

The 2024 season in Mount Barker saw early budburst and a hot, dry growing period, leading to earlier harvests and producing fuller-bodied, layered, and complex wines.

Cabernet Sauvignon for rosé was night-harvested, destemmed, and lightly pressed after ~2 hours’ skin contact. Fermented in stainless steel, with some in old French oak, the wine rested on lees for ~4 months before blending, stabilisation, filtration, and bottling.

RIESLING
2021

VINTAGE & WINEMAKING

The 2021 season brought above average winter rainfall and a dry, mild summer, perfect for ripening Riesling with vibrant acidity and fine tannins. Handpicked fruit was quickly destemmed, crushed, and pressed to preserve freshness. The clear juice was racked to tank and cool fermented with a champagne yeast strain to enhance purity and aroma. Post ferment, the wine rested on lees for three months to develop texture and complexity before racking, fining, stabilisation, and bottling. The result is a bright, well-structured Riesling with freshness, finesse, and impressive flavour clarity.

THE WINE

Pale straw in colour, this wine offers aromas of lemon blossom, citrus leaf, lanolin, and flinty notes. The palate is intense and citrus-driven, with fine phenolics and a crisp, acid led finish. With age, it has gained palate weight and greater harmony between tannin and acidity.
