VINTAGE & WINEMAKING
he 2021 winter saw average amounts of rainfall that continued into spring. Summer was warm and dry with good even temperatures. This provided excellent growing conditions which resulted in high quality Shiraz fruit with excellent tannin and flavour intensity.
Machine-harvested fruit was destemmed, cold-soaked, and fermented on skins with daily plunges. After pressing, it matured in French barriques (30% new) for malolactic fermentation, then blended, filtered, and bottled in January 2023.
RIESLING
2021
VINTAGE & WINEMAKING
The 2021 season brought above average winter rainfall and a dry, mild summer, perfect for ripening Riesling with vibrant acidity and fine tannins. Handpicked fruit was quickly destemmed, crushed, and pressed to preserve freshness. The clear juice was racked to tank and cool fermented with a champagne yeast strain to enhance purity and aroma. Post ferment, the wine rested on lees for three months to develop texture and complexity before racking, fining, stabilisation, and bottling. The result is a bright, well-structured Riesling with freshness, finesse, and impressive flavour clarity.
THE WINE
Pale straw in colour, this wine offers aromas of lemon blossom, citrus leaf, lanolin, and flinty notes. The palate is intense and citrus-driven, with fine phenolics and a crisp, acid led finish. With age, it has gained palate weight and greater harmony between tannin and acidity.
